One of the main reasons for a poor tomato harvest is improper watering.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, spoke about the main mistakes in watering tomatoes.
How not to water tomatoes
Firstly, you cannot use cold water from a well or borehole to water tomatoes. The water must be warm.
The second common mistake is irregular watering. Tomatoes need to be watered regularly, and drying out should not be allowed.
If the tomatoes do dry out, do not overwater them, but resume watering gradually.
The third mistake is watering the leaves and in the evening. Because of this, tomatoes can get late blight. Water only under the root in the first half of the day.
