At the same time, there is a truly ingenious method of sowing this flower, thanks to which the need for picking disappears. It was shared with us by the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .
So, for those who do not want to deal with picking petunias, it is worth planting the flower in seedling boxes (containers, flowerpots) of a small size.
The containers should be light-colored, since in dark containers the soil warms up faster due to the sun's rays, and moisture evaporates. As a result, the roots can overheat, which will require watering twice a day.
The soil for petunias should be loose and light - place it in a container and moisten it before planting the seeds, which, by the way, do not need to be embedded in the soil.
Another important condition: when choosing a variety, preference should be given to one with a powerful root system. An excellent option is white cascade petunia.
Place the seeds on the soil surface. Then cover the container with cling film.
Place the container with petunias on a sunny windowsill.
Control the temperature required for seed germination: it should be in the range of 23-25 degrees Celsius, that’s basically all you need to grow petunia without picking.
