The cherry fly eats the fruit fairly quickly, causing it to fall to the ground.
After landing on the ground, the worm begins to burrow into the ground, and then turns into a pupa and begins to hibernate.
The next season, a fly emerges from the cocoon and begins to destroy the fruit.
As practice shows, 3 seasons are enough for nothing to remain of a fruit tree. Therefore, even at the first appearance of this pest, it is worth immediately thinking about treatment and taking appropriate measures.
How can you fight?
The pest is dangerous, so the methods must be effective. Folk methods and "safe" treatments must be excluded, because they do not demonstrate the required effectiveness.
As soon as the fly appears, insecticides should be used immediately. One of the most popular is "Actellic", but there are others.
Powerful drugs should be used immediately, without even thinking about the fact that they may pose a danger to the fetus.
It is better not to eat cherries for one season than to lose the tree after 3 years. When using special products, it is worth reading the instructions carefully and using rubber gloves, a mask and protecting your respiratory tract.
