All summer residents grow grapes, and in most cases near gazebos. It turns out very convenient - both a canopy and a harvest.

But often the vine is left without due attention. If gardeners still remember about pruning, then they sometimes forget about fertilizing.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told what and when to feed grapes for a good harvest.

When to feed

In spring, two additional feedings are carried out.

The first time before the buds begin to swell, and the second time before flowering.

First feeding

As with most plants, fertilizer should contain nitrogen.

1. You can dissolve 20 grams of saltpeter or 10 grams of urea in 10 liters of water. Adding these substances will allow the vine to quickly gain green mass.

2. With the same success you can use a mixture:

  • 2 tbsp. l. superphosphate;
  • 1 tsp potassium sulfate;
  • 1 tbsp. ammonium nitrate.

The mixture is applied evenly to the soil under the grapes, and then abundant watering is carried out.

3. You can also prepare this mixture:

  • 1 g of iron sulfate;
  • 15 g of boric acid;
  • 20 g citric acid;
  • 40 g of urea.

This composition is used for spraying.

4. Wood ash is used as a folk remedy, which helps fight fungus.

An infusion is used (1 kg of ash per 30 l of water and left for three days).

The finished concentrate is diluted in 10 liters of water and used for watering at the roots.

5. From organics, chicken manure is used (a handful per 20 liters of water and leave for a week). It is used for watering once a year.

Second feeding

It is best to use a complex fertilizer.

You can also mix 20 grams of ammonium nitrate, 10 grams of superphosphate, 20 grams of potassium salt and dissolve in 10 liters of water. Use for watering.
