Water bodies are increasingly becoming a decoration of the garden plot, but if you really want to bring some zest to the garden and get peace from contemplating the pond, it is worth playing it up properly.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh listed plants that will cope with this task - they will become a real decoration for the garden and will effectively purify water, and their cost is not high at all.
The list includes:
- bogbean;
- butterbur;
- rush;
- sedge;
- marsh fern.
These plants can be planted near a pond. They do not need to be covered for the winter in the middle zone. You only need to remove the seed pods in time and limit the growth of the rhizomes, since the listed "individuals" reproduce well.
As an aquatic inhabitant, you can choose water lilies, which are distinguished by their beautiful flowering, however, caring for them will not be easy - they need to be removed for the winter, fertilized and monitored for sufficient sun and water temperature.
If you do not plan to spend a lot of time on care, choose a tetrahedral water lily, it also blooms and reproduces well, and, in addition, winters well.
Marsh marigold, which grows independently using seeds, is suitable for the coastal zone.
In addition, the specialist advises taking a closer look at the blue-gray canna and the meadowsweet - thanks to their spectacular appearance, they will certainly find their admirers.
