An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh notes that in most cases the decision is correct.
But sometimes fertilizing radishes with ash is a gross mistake.
Why radishes need to be fertilized with ash
The fact is that ash is a source of potassium, and radishes are just a “lover” of this microelement.
Unburned wood residues should be added before planting garden crops.
And when the radish grows, the plant should be fed with an infusion prepared on the basis of the above-mentioned product (250 grams per bucket of water).
It is necessary to water the roots. The best time to do this procedure is in the evening.
In what cases will ash harm radishes?
Unburned wood residues alkalize the soil. Therefore, adding ash to acidic soil is a pointless (and sometimes dangerous) action.
In addition, it is not worth fertilizing radishes with wood ash if fertilizers such as urea and ammonium nitrate have recently been added.
You need to wait at least four weeks, otherwise the nitrogen will simply be neutralized by unburned wood residues.
Earlier, the expert listed the mistakes due to which a summer resident will not harvest a good radish crop.
