Flowers grow in the beds not because the gardener mixed something up or does not monitor what is happening in his garden.
There are flowers that nature itself destined to grow in a vegetable garden or in a garden. We will talk about marigolds.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, explained why marigolds are sown in the garden.
All benefits
These unpretentious and inexpensive flowers will significantly improve the quality of the soil and increase the yield of fruit crops.
They protect the soil from drying out and depletion, improve its structure, prevent the spread of pests, repel rodents and slugs, protect plants from diseases (including late blight), and increase crop yields.
Instead of listing the beneficial properties of these plants and still forgetting something, it is easier to say that the method has no drawbacks.
How to use
1. Flowers are sown and not removed from the beds until you begin to prepare the garden for winter, even if the flowers dry up.
Marigolds are added to the soil during digging, which will improve the soil and increase crop yields.
2. Take 300 grams of marigolds (without roots), chop, pour boiling water over them, and let it brew for two days.
Dilute the concentrate with water 1:10 and use to feed fruit and ornamental crops.
Among vegetables, marigold dressing will appeal to all nightshades, beets and carrots, pumpkin, leafy greens, parsley and dill.
Of the decorative ones – roses, tulips, daffodils and gladioli.
From berry bushes you can feed gooseberries, currants, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries.
