How to protect potatoes from cicadas: simple methods - not everyone knows about them

Not all summer residents perceive cicadas as pests, because after a whole day of work, many people like to enjoy their “singing”.

However, it is worth understanding that cicadas can cause harm to potatoes.

Therefore, insects should be scared away from potato plantings, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, a landscape designer and agronomist.

What should you pay attention to?

Ammonia

It is enough to carry out just one such treatment in order to protect potatoes from cicadas. This recipe, by the way, will also become an additional source of nitrogen.

It is recommended to mix a couple of spoons of the product in a bucket of water and strengthen the composition with shavings of laundry soap.

To prevent cicadas from appearing in a bed with potatoes, you should "surround" the vegetable with garlic and onion plantings. Such a neighborhood will benefit the potatoes in any case.

Tar soap

It is recommended to take two hundred grams of the specified soap per bucket of water. After that, we begin processing the potato bed. The procedure should be carried out every 20 days.
