The good thing about spring garden treatment is that it allows you to deal a significant blow to insect pests and pathogens without harming the future harvest.

Another plus is that bees and other pollinating insects do not fly at this time, which also does not harm the environment.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how and when to treat the garden from diseases and pests.

When to start

Experienced gardeners carry out at least three treatments during the spring.

The very first one is carried out as soon as stable warm weather sets in and severe frosts end. The main thing is to do it before the buds swell.

The second treatment is carried out at a time when the first leaves are just beginning to emerge from the buds.

The third treatment is before flowering.

Spraying is carried out in dry and windless weather. It is important that there is no precipitation for a couple of days after treatment.

What to process with

For the first stage, fungicides "Horus", "Skor", 3% Bordeaux mixture or iron sulfate are used against mites, weevils and other pests, as well as against rot, scab and other diseases.

At the second stage, use 1% Bordeaux mixture or fungicides "Horus", "Iskra", "Aktara", but strictly according to the instructions.

Before flowering, that is, before the buds burst, the garden is treated with "Horus", "Skor", "Fufanon". It is important to do it before the flowers appear, so as not to harm the bees.

And finally, when the first ovaries appear, you can use “Iskra” or the biopreparations “Lepidocid” or “Bitoxibacillin”.
