Flower growers like peonies no less than roses, and some even more.
Bright, large and fragrant buds decorate any area. But in order for the flowers to turn out exactly like this, you must feed them.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told when and how to feed peonies.
How to feed peonies
1. Organic fertilizer. You can add humus (compost) under peonies. But you need to remember that organics do not work so quickly.
At the same time, organic matter is considered to be an equally high-quality additive for the soil.
2. Mineral fertilizers. Mainly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. But additives must be applied in the right proportions.
Nitrogen is necessary for the development of greenery, phosphorus is necessary for the formation of buds and flowering, potassium strengthens the health of the plant as a whole.
In any case, it is important to remember that overdosing on fertilizers is harmful to flowers.
When to feed
Fertilizing is carried out at the beginning of spring. At this time, active growth of peonies begins.
The next feeding is carried out after a few weeks.
