The size of the root vegetables is usually indicated on the seed packet. In addition, it is worth making sure that the selected varieties are suitable for your region and climate conditions.

Prepare a bed for radishes

Preparing a bed for radishes begins with choosing the right location. Radishes grow best in areas where greens or potatoes were previously grown.

The ideal soil for radishes is loose, well-drained loamy soil with a neutral or slightly acidic pH.

When preparing the beds for planting radishes, add 10 liters of compost, 1 liter of wood ash and 50 grams of superphosphate per square meter of the bed. During the formation of root crops, you can additionally use complex mineral fertilizer.
