Before you start planting cucumbers, the seeds of this crop must be properly prepared.
The expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared recommendations, after following which you will be pleasantly surprised by the germination of seeds.
There is nothing complicated about preparation.
First, you need to remove very small, dry and damaged seeds. Then pour clean, warm water into a glass and add a little salt.
Place the cucumber seeds in this water. Any seeds that float to the surface are not suitable for planting as they will most likely not germinate.
The next step is to heat and disinfect the seeds. To do this, preheat the oven to 60 °C. Spread the seeds on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper in a single layer and place the baking sheet in the oven for 3 hours.
Then place the seeds in water heated to 60 degrees and finally immerse them in a solution of potassium permanganate.
Leave the seeds on a towel to dry completely, then transfer them to a napkin and put them in the freezer for a few days.
Now your seeds are ready to germinate.
