As you know, the soil consists of 4 main components, namely: base, nutrition, leavening agents and beneficial fungi and bacteria.
According to Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer, you can use light soil from your own garden as the basis for the soil mixture.
It must be sifted and disinfected - only such soil is suitable for growing seedlings.
Let's move on to the next point - loosening components, which can be vermiculite, perlite or sand. All of them improve the structure of the soil and facilitate the absorption of nutrients by plants.
If we take sand, then its ratio to soil can be 1:3 or 1:4.
As for nutrients, the standard option includes adding vermicompost or using fertilizers such as chicken manure, horse or cow manure (in granules), and organomineral additives. For every liter of soil mixture, 3 grams of fertilizer should be added.
There are also specialized fertilizers - for example, if you are preparing the soil for sowing cucumbers, you can add fertilizer designed specifically for this crop.
It is also permitted to add lime or dolomite flour to the soil at a rate of 6 g per liter of soil mixture.
And finally: as a fourth component, the expert advises using hay bacillus or trichoderma, which will protect the plantings from diseases.
