But as for the latter, it is called the most capricious of crops. It seems that it is unlikely that you will be able to grow seedlings in an apartment, but this is panic.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to plant eggplant seedlings.

To ensure that all the seeds germinate and the seedlings grow strong, listen to these tips.

First, we choose a favorable day for sowing.

You can still make it in January, right up until the 27th.

In February, it is best to sow eggplants from the 12th to the 14th, as well as the 21st, 22nd, 25th and 26th.

There's not much time left in March, but keep an eye on the dates of the 12th and 13th, as well as the 24th through the 26th.

Secondly, don’t be lazy and prepare the soil for future seedlings.

It should be fertile, neutral and loose soil.

You can buy it, or you can mix humus with soil in a ratio of 2:1, humus with peat (2:1), turf soil with humus (1:4).

But you need to remember that the soil should be disinfected and superphosphate added.

Thirdly, you can heat the soil to sterilize it.

This can be done in the oven, steamed, or using other methods.

But then you need to add biofertilizers, superphosphate and potassium salt.

Fourthly, you need to prepare the seeds properly.

Before sowing, soak them in water for 30 minutes, then place them in damp gauze, cover and keep in a warm place. It is important to maintain the moisture of the gauze.

The seeds should germinate within 5-7 days.

Fifth, choose a suitable container.

Eggplants do not like picking, and therefore they are sown in peat tablets, cups or other individual containers.

A day before sowing, the containers are treated, filled with substrate, watered and, depending on the volume of the container, 2-3 seeds are planted.

The containers are covered with film and kept at a temperature of 25-30 degrees Celsius until seedlings appear.
