Flowers
January is a good time to plant flowers with a long growing season, as this will allow them to bloom earlier.
Typically these are the crops that require 160-190 days to begin budding.
If you haven't planted eustoma yet, do it now. It's not too late to plant, but there's no point in delaying it. In addition, now is the time to plant: Shabo carnations, violas, primroses, lavender, astilbe, gaillardia, begonia, garden geranium, columbine, verbena, delphinium, Carpathian bellflower, gentian, salvia.
Vegetables
Sowing seeds of most vegetables for seedlings in January is only advisable in warmer regions or when planting them in heated greenhouses.
Do not rush into early planting, as overgrown plants have difficulty adapting and take root slowly.
The exceptions are eggplants and peppers, which are difficult to germinate.
In January, you can also sow strawberry seeds that do not form runners. This is the best time if you want to get the first, albeit small, harvest of berries in the summer.
