Haven't grown peppers at home on your windowsill yet? Let's try it!
According to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , it will not only decorate your home, but also give you fresh vegetables - chili peppers or sweet paprika for salads, depending on the variety you choose.
Moreover, perhaps any person can cope with this simple task, if, of course, he has sufficient knowledge on this topic.
So, the first thing you need to do before you start growing peppers at home on your windowsill is to decide what kind of pepper you want to grow: sweet or hot.
The thing is that it is not recommended to plant them together, since due to the possibility of cross-pollination, the taste of the fruit will change for the worse.
If you want to grow both sweet and hot peppers, it is better to place them in different rooms.
Second: for growing peppers on a windowsill, special low-growing varieties with small fruits are used.
If we talk about hot peppers, they are the most compact (up to 30 cm) and, accordingly, have the smallest fruits, because they do not need to have the same thick and juicy pulp as sweet peppers.
Sweet pepper bushes are taller, growing up to 50-90 cm and producing larger, fleshier fruits.
It remains to add a few words about lighting - pepper needs at least 12 hours of bright light, which makes the presence of a phytolamp mandatory, and about temperature - the crop will feel good at 22-24 degrees with a plus sign.
