The main decoration of a summer cottage is roses of all varieties and types. But these beauties do not get along with all plants.

Experienced summer residents have already mastered the term "unfavorable neighborhood." These rules apply everywhere - in the vegetable garden, in the garden and in the flowerbed too.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told which plants roses do not get along with.

Not all plants can be planted next to roses, and it’s not a matter of aesthetics.

Flowers

Some plants may simply behave aggressively.

First of all, this concerns:

  • crops that spread by self-seeding, such as forget-me-not, bellflower, etc.;
  • You can't plant rapidly growing plants like goldenrod;
  • the same applies to plants with creeping roots, such as mint or lily of the valley;
  • and the last on the list are representatives of the buttercup family.

And also move peonies and carnations further away.

Trees

You also need to pay attention to what trees grow near roses.

For example, birch and other trees with shallow roots can compete with roses for moisture and nutrients.

Bushes

And if roses grow next to viburnum or lilac, then pest attacks cannot be avoided.

Previously we talked about how to speed up the growth of indoor plants.
