In gardening, the success of a summer cottage campaign depends on the results of sowing seeds for seedlings. Whatever you do, even cucumbers will bear fruit poorly if the seedlings grow weak.

If we are talking about early harvests, then the role of seedlings increases.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to grow healthy and strong cucumber seedlings.

How to sow

1. First, you need to disinfect the seeds (immerse them in a solution of potassium permanganate for 30 minutes, then rinse them in warm water).

2. Place the seeds on a damp gauze, moisten the seeds periodically and keep them warm until the sprouts appear.

3. Plant 1-2 seeds in separate containers, sprinkling with soil up to 3 mm, then moistening with a spray bottle.

4. Until the seedlings appear, keep the containers warm – 25-28 degrees Celsius.

If everything is done correctly, the first leaves will appear within a week.

How to care

Subsequently, cucumber seedlings are kept warm, illuminated with a phytolamp for 6-8 hours.

Watering is carried out as the soil dries out, but without allowing excess moisture, protecting from cold and drafts.

Previously, we talked about what kind of soil to choose for pepper and tomato seedlings.
