An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh gave several recommendations to those who plan to start growing pepper seedlings in January (these are, as a rule, residents of the southern regions, since for the middle zone the appropriate time falls in the middle - end of February).
So, let's start with favorable dates according to the lunar calendar. Recommended days for sowing are the 11th, 12th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st, 24th, 25th, 28th, 29th.
We smoothly move on to the next step – preparing the soil mixture.
The easiest way is to purchase a ready-made substrate with an acidity of 6-6.5 pH, and add coconut substrate and sifted sand to it for looseness and air permeability.
Do not forget that the soil may contain pathogens, which can be eliminated with the help of the drug "Baikal M1".
Once the soil is ready, take care of the seeds, which need to be soaked for 15 minutes in chlorhexidine to also reduce the risk of developing one or another disease.
The seeds should be planted 1.5-2 cm deep, leaving a distance of 3 cm between them.
Finally, moisten the soil. This is where the “unusualness” of the method lies, because it is assumed that you will take a home sprayer for this purpose. It will allow you not to turn the plantings into a “swamp” and leave the soil just as loose.
All that remains is to cover the container with seedlings with film and put them on the highest cabinet – as a rule, it is warmer there, at the top, which means that the shoots will appear earlier.
