What mistakes do gardeners make when using superphosphate: the fertilizer becomes useless and even dangerous

Sometimes summer residents who belong to the “amateur” category complain that double or simple superphosphate turned out to be ineffective.

This can really happen if you make some mistakes in the process of using it. Moreover, according to the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , in this case the fertilizer can even become dangerous.

First, let us remember that superphosphates are long-acting fertilizers, which means that they will begin to fully nourish plants, releasing phosphorus, only a few months after application.

If you want to replenish the deficiency of this element right now, you should prepare the extract not by infusing or boiling water, but by using vinegar (but we’ll talk about that some other time).

Besides, you will not achieve anything if you apply fertilizer superficially.

Since phosphorus is a low-mobility element, the composition must be applied to the root zone: for garden crops - into holes or furrows during planting, for trees or shrubs - when digging the trunk circle.

And, of course, you should not exceed the recommended dosage.

Excess phosphorus can lead to lush flowering with a negligible number of ovaries, rapid ripening of fruits, which simply do not have time to accumulate sugars and reach the required size, as well as the inability to absorb microelements.

Earlier, the expert spoke about whether currants need ash in winter.
