Good news for those summer residents who worry about their strawberry harvest every year: grow strawberries in buckets, and you will pick a whole basket of berries from each bush.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about a method that helps to cheaply and effectively get rid of unnecessary troubles.

Firstly, you will have to take care to select a large-fruited variety: according to the observations of experienced gardeners, the well-known “Albina” is the best for this purpose.

Secondly, when planting strawberries in buckets, you will have to meet a few more conditions.

The capacity of the container intended for growing strawberries should be at least 3 liters.

If you hope to get a decent harvest, use universal soil, which, in addition to everything else, should be fatty.

Be sure to add overflows - this way you can be sure of an even flow of moisture to the roots. By the way, to drain excess moisture, put a small stone at least 3 cm thick on the bottom.

And, of course, be sure to provide additional lighting for 10-12 hours with fluorescent lamps.

For the first harvest, these measures will be enough. But to get stable good harvests in the future, it is recommended to use humate, green fertilizer and ash solution - in turn.

If you don't want to bother with preparing these solutions, you can use ready-made humus. But in this case, you need to carefully monitor the soil reaction, since we don't know what the purchased humus is made of, and there is a risk of acidifying the soil.

If the leaves of the plants start to curl, this is a sign that the soil has become too acidic. In this case, you should water it with slaked lime.

Earlier, BelNovosti reported on varieties of bell peppers that have been tested over the years.
