Pepper planting should begin in February. Since this crop ripens in about 15-18 weeks. To correctly calculate the start of sowing, you need to study the information on the package well.

So, the very first and very important stage is the preparation of the selected seeds for planting. Since these seeds take quite a long time to germinate, it is better to germinate them in advance. Before this, it is advisable to disinfect the seeds in potassium permanganate.

How to germinate and sow pepper seeds, says the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

Prepared seeds should be laid out on a well-moistened napkin and covered with film on top. Place the napkin with seeds in a plate and put in a warm place. Regularly check that the napkin is damp. Usually the seeds hatch on the 3-4th day.

Well, now we prepare the soil. Universal soil is perfect for peppers. You can buy it at any flower shop.

You can also use garden soil, or better yet, mix garden soil with universal soil and add a little wood ash to the mixture.

Next, you need to fill the seedling box with the prepared soil, first pouring expanded clay on the bottom. Water the soil well and make depressions, about 1.5 cm. Place the seeds in these depressions and lightly sprinkle them with soil.

It is best to place the container with seeds on the windowsill. In the future, it is very important to monitor the soil moisture. Excess moisture is very dangerous, as is its lack.

As soon as the shoots begin to appear, they need to be provided with additional lighting using phytolamps.

When two true leaves appear, you can begin picking the seedlings. This is necessary for good formation of the root system.

Before replanting, the soil must be watered well.

This promotes good separation of the root ball without damaging the root system.

In a separate cup, drainage and a soil mixture are poured in the same way, and then a hole is made for the seedlings.

Using a small shovel, separate the seedlings from each other and carefully transfer them to the prepared hole. Sprinkle with soil and water.

During the adaptation period, the seedlings should not be exposed to light. Well, and after that, you can return them back to the windowsill.

In the future, the seedlings will require rare but abundant watering, additional lighting if necessary, and fertilizing with mineral fertilizers.

If you follow these simple rules, the seedlings will always be healthy and will give you a high yield.
