You should prepare in advance, I do this in the fall. I remove all plant remains very carefully, including mulch.
If the plants are sick, I don't put the tops in the compost, but burn them. I try to wash the inside of the greenhouse with a solution of laundry soap (a bar per bucket of water with the addition of mustard powder).
Spring is coming - the greenhouse is waiting
It is generally accepted that green manure should be sown in the fall, but I do this in early spring, at the beginning of April.
They manage to grow green mass up to 20 cm, enrich the soil with phosphorus, potassium, prevent weeds from growing, and destroy slugs and wireworms.
I like to mix seeds of different herbs: rape, vetch, phacelia, mustard, oilseed radish. I mow the green manure and bury it in the ground. With such green manure, you can forget about manure.
Seaweed is an excellent fertilizer, which is sold in garden stores in dried form. The natural product will enrich the soil with zinc, iron, magnesium, nitrogen, potassium and other microelements.
The alginic acid they contain promotes the growth of beneficial microbes. I add it when digging.
About once every three years I add bone meal, saturating the soil with phosphorus and calcium. This fertilizer can also be harmful - excess phosphorus will pollute the soil, so it is important not to overdo it.
And to retain moisture, I also add peat moss. It contains sphagnol, which kills bacteria and fungi. And moss also improves the structure of the soil and retains moisture.
Preparing for landing
10 days before planting in the greenhouse, I water the beds with phytosporin and cover them with film. Beneficial bacteria will begin their work and prepare the soil to receive the seedlings.
When planting, I put mature compost or humus and wood ash into each hole.
Such preparation gives results – the harvest will please. But it is necessary to carefully monitor the condition of plants, pests, and not allow the development of diseases...
