There are many tips on this topic. And the most difficult ones are tomato and pepper seeds.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to prepare tomato seeds for sowing.
This procedure must be carried out approximately one month before sowing the seeds of the indicated crops for seedlings.
It is important to remember that most pathogens infect seedlings if not through the soil, then by penetrating it through the seed material.
Therefore, no sowing can take place without disinfection.
How to process seeds
In this case, chlorhexidine or potassium permanganate, which is familiar to many, will help.
1. To treat seeds in chlorhexidine, they are kept in the solution for five minutes, after which they are not washed, but only wiped with gauze and put away in a dry place for storage.
2. Using potassium permanganate, you need to make a solution of a rich purple color. For this you will need about ½ teaspoon of the product per glass of warm water.
The seeds are kept for five minutes, then allowed to dry on gauze and put away for storage.
