There is one simple method that allows you to significantly increase your potato harvest. At least that's what gardeners say.

It is believed that if you cut potato tubers before planting, you can grow a harvest 3 times larger than usual.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to plant potatoes with cut tubers.

How to proceed

You should not cut seed potatoes in advance, otherwise they will dry out.

It is advisable to do this before planting and be sure to treat the cut areas with wood ash.

Large potato tubers can be cut into 3 or 4 pieces, but most often, smaller-than-average sized fruits are left for seeds.

But you shouldn't cut small potatoes or plant small ones. Such seeds will give a meager harvest.

This method is considered ideal for cases of breeding a new variety.

In a normal situation, cutting and processing in ash takes time, but the result is no worse than with a normal planting.

Previously it was reported how to plant carrots to increase the yield.
