Even if there are a large number of different insulation materials and modern construction technologies, the floor can still be cold.
The problem of freezing floors is more relevant for country houses, since apartments are usually warmer.
It is important to pay special attention to thermal insulation and its quality, as well as to choose the right type of flooring and its condition.
The floor that is in direct contact with the ground freezes the most – in this case, even thick carpets will not help.
Can the problem be solved?
A variety of materials can be used for insulation:
- Construction wool – mineral wool and even ecowool will also work.
- Bulk material – used to fill the space between the subfloor and finished floor.
- Some builders use modern synthetic insulation materials such as extruded polystyrene foam.
