Over the winter, some rules about order in the garden may become dull and forgotten, which will cause an ordinary crop failure.

Most often, in the spring, summer residents forget about crop rotation and the correct placement of plants in the beds.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, reminded us which cultivated plants should not be planted next to strawberries.

Consequences of violating the ban

Plants compete with each other for light, moisture, and nutrients.

At the same time, they can share various diseases with their neighbors, who in turn send hordes of pests at them.

The result in each of these cases is sad – crop failure.

What you can't plant with strawberries

If strawberries stay in one place for up to four years, then all other plantings migrate around the garden from year to year.

Therefore, make sure that there are no following near the strawberry bed:
nightshades - tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and potatoes, like strawberries themselves, suffer from the same diseases (late blight, rot, etc.), as well as from pests;

cabbage - white cabbage, broccoli or cauliflower - will get sick along with strawberries, and suffer from attacks by cabbage worms and cabbage butterflies;

grapes - will suffer from fungal diseases, and you should also expect a struggle for nutrients.

What to plant next to strawberries

There will be no problems if peas, nasturtium or cornflower, onions and garlic, and cereals grow nearby.

Earlier we talked about which indoor plants bring good luck and wealth .
