If you are unable to achieve lush and long-lasting flowering of violets, perhaps you are caring for them too hard.
The violet is very unpretentious and does not like excessive care.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh talks about five mistakes flower growers make that prevent violets from blooming.
How to care for a violet
Firstly, the violet should not be planted in a large pot. The volume of the leaf rosette should be approximately twice the volume of the pot.
Secondly, the violet does not like to be in direct sunlight for a long time.
On a sunny windowsill, violets can only be grown from autumn to mid-spring.
Thirdly, frequent and abundant watering is harmful to the violet. Focus on the top layer of soil: if it is wet, watering is not necessary.
But periodic washing of the violet leaves is necessary. It is also necessary to trim off wilting leaves in a timely manner.
