Experienced gardeners begin preparing beds for tomatoes immediately after harvesting.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, tells us how to prepare a bed for tomatoes in the fall.
How to Prepare a Bed for Tomatoes
The first thing you need to do is remove all the weeds and dig up the soil.
When digging the soil, you need to add fertilizers, both organic and mineral (superphosphate, dolomite flour).
After applying fertilizer, the bed must be mulched with leaves, straw or agrofibre.
When preparing the soil in a greenhouse, the algorithm of actions is similar, but organic matter does not need to be added; superphosphate and dolomite flour are sufficient.
