The apple tree is an unpretentious tree, but this does not mean that it does not need to be looked after.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, tells us what rules for caring for an apple tree should be followed in the fall so as not to spoil the tree.
How not to spoil an apple tree
Firstly, you can't leave litter under the tree. It needs to be disposed of along with the leaves.
Pests and pathogens breed in the litter, which then penetrate the soil and damage the trees.
Secondly, at the end of the season you cannot feed the apple tree with nitrogen fertilizers.
They stimulate growth and formation of new leaves, which the tree does not need in the fall.
Thirdly, do not forget about pruning. You need to remove all dry, diseased and damaged branches so that the tree does not waste energy on them.
