Many summer residents try their best to free the fruit trees growing in their gardens from moss and lichen, but no matter how hard they try, they can’t accomplish their plans.
If you are one of them, listen to the advice of the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , who told about a miraculous treatment that allows you to achieve what you want in one go.
It involves the use of a 3% solution of ferrous sulfate.
The product is applied to fruit trees by spraying.
The right time to carry out the procedure is late autumn, when there are no leaves left on the branches.
If you are determined to start processing before the leaves fall, then you should use the same solution of iron sulfate, but in a lower concentration - 1% is enough.
And while some gardeners doubt whether it is necessary to remove lichens and moss from trees at all, others cite the fact that these “formations” on trunks and branches block the breathing pores of the plant as an argument.
As you understand, this cannot but affect the growth and development of trees.
