In order to get a decent harvest after sowing onion sets in the winter, it is worth not only preparing the beds by adding fertilizers to them, but also processing the planting material itself.

Thus, according to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , as a result of disinfection the risk of onion contamination will be significantly reduced.

For this, you can use several tools at once. Each of them copes with the task perfectly.

Potassium permanganate

To carry out the procedure, you will need a 1% solution of potassium permanganate, in which you should immerse the onion for 20 minutes.

After such a “bath”, the onion sets need to be washed in clean water, dried and can be planted in the beds.
