The main apple harvest, as you may know if you have been gardening for a long time, ripens in September.
Unfortunately, as the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh said, during this period not only ripe fruits but also rotten specimens can be found on the trees.
If the fruits begin to rot as they ripen, the tree is probably suffering from a disease called fruit rot, or, as it is also called, moniliosis.
If you notice rotten apples on the trees in your garden, they need to be removed.
To prevent the spread of spores in the area, these fruits must be burned.
Of course, although this procedure can be called prevention in a sense, it will not save you from the disease, so you will have to start cultivating the garden.
After the entire harvest has been collected, treat the apple tree with one of the products from the list below:
- iron sulfate;
- copper sulfate;
- Bordeaux mixture;
- "Hom";
- "Cuprazon";
- "Horus" and others.
For foliar spraying, use a 1% preparation, after leaf fall - a 3% preparation, and change the product in the spring.
