For a summer resident who has noticed wormy apples on a tree, there is two pieces of news - good and bad.
The positive aspect is that the quality of the fruit is high. Worms are unlikely to appear in the fruit if there is an excess of fertilizers and various "chemicals".
And yet, the owner of a country plot is unlikely to be pleased with a large number of wormy fruits.
It is not very pleasant to eat apples (even peeled ones), knowing that they have been “attacked” by pests.
Wormy Apples: What Does It Mean?
The creatures that appeared in the fruits are not exactly “worms”, although they are often called that.
A more correct name is codling moth caterpillars.
Now we know what pest the crop was affected by. This means it will be easier to solve the problem.
How to solve the problem with garlic
Many summer residents have noticed that the codling moth is very afraid of the smell of garlic.
Thus, garlic is an effective means of fighting the pest.
An infusion should be prepared based on the spicy vegetable. This liquid is made very simply: you need to take a deep container, put 10 crushed cloves of garlic into it and pour a liter of boiling liquid over them.
After 24 hours the product will be ready. It will need to be poured into a spray bottle.
After this, all that remains is to pour drops of the infusion over the apple tree. As a result, larvae will stop appearing inside the fruit.
