Raspberries at the dacha have long ceased to be a luxury, but a real necessity. With proper care and a selected variety, the harvest can be collected in buckets without going to the forest.
But this bush has one peculiarity: the raspberry grows and at the same time the yield decreases. Here's how to stop it.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared advice that will help solve this problem.
There are several ways to stop raspberry growth.
1. Trimming
Regular pruning of raspberries will help control its growth and maintain the correct formation of the bush. At the same time, the yield increases and the varietal qualities of the bush can be preserved.
2. Fencing
Special fencing materials are dug into the ground. Most often, sheets of iron or slate are used, dug to a depth of up to 50 cm, which helps to stop the growth of raspberry roots.
3. Natural fences
It has been noted that it is possible to stop the growth of raspberries with the help of plants. So, summer residents plant sorrel or lavender along the plantings or use mulch.
Often, all these methods give a result in a complex. And sometimes it will not be superfluous to physically remove the shoots that have appeared outside the berry patch.
