Every gardener strives to protect the garden entrusted to him from pests and diseases, choosing safe methods for this whenever possible.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared a method that advanced gardeners use on their plots.
To do this, farmers attach traps to trees, made from synthetic padding.
We will tell you how to make such a device. You will need to cut a strip, the width of which is approximately 20-30 cm.
Wrap it around the tree trunk, stepping back 30-50 cm from the ground surface and tie it securely with twine.
All that remains is to fluff up the material, and our trap is ready.
Thanks to this design, pests that are used to getting to the leaves, flowers and fruits, moving their small paws along the tree trunk, as well as ants that carry aphids, will not be able to get onto the tree.
When the synthetic padding is filled with pests and no longer looks so attractive, it should be replaced with a new one. By the way, if you don’t have the necessary material at hand, carefully examine your bins – perhaps you will find foam rubber in them, which will be an excellent replacement for synthetic padding.
