If your strawberries have started to bloom, you should carry out three simple procedures that will help you get a rich harvest.
The first thing is watering. Without water, the plant will not please you with large berries, they will be small and semi-dry.
It is recommended to water as the soil dries out. On hot days – every other day with warm, settled water.
You should not use cold water, otherwise the plant risks developing fungal diseases or even rotting.
The second thing is weeding. We remove all the weeds that have appeared in the beds from our strawberries.
Between the beds, we carefully and shallowly loosen the soil so that the roots have better access to oxygen.
Since flowering strawberries produce runners, they should be removed if possible. They take away a lot of strength and energy.
This procedure will have a beneficial effect on the size of future berries.
The third thing is feeding. We prepare the following mixture: fill a 10-liter bucket one-third with nettles, fill it with water, then close the lid and put it in the greenhouse.
As soon as the mixture finishes fermenting, the fertilizer is ready. But it needs to be prepared approximately 5-7 days before feeding.
We prepare an infusion from ash - add three liter mugs to a 10-liter bucket of boiled water, then stir and leave to stand for two days.
The final stage: add half a liter of ash infusion and the same amount of nettle infusion to 10 liters of water and mix.
We will treat the strawberries with this fertilizer. As a result, all three procedures described above will provide you with a good harvest of large and sweet berries.
