Gardeners prefer to grow cucumbers through seedlings, which allows them to begin harvesting 1-2 weeks earlier than when sowing in open ground.

Plants must be strong and provided with adequate nutrition from the very first days to achieve a good harvest.

There are several ways to feed seedlings, ranging from purchased mineral fertilizers to folk remedies, including ammonium sulfate and onion peel.

Today I will tell you about my methods for making seedlings grow strong and not stretch out.

Benefits of Ammonium Sulfate for Cucumbers

Absolutely safe fertilizer is easily absorbed by plants. The fertilizer contains the necessary nitrogen and sulfur.

Nitrogen, in turn, helps cucumbers to fully grow green mass, and sulfur will ensure that the plant does not have to spend much effort to extract the necessary nutrition from the soil and resist diseases.

What does ammonium sulfate give to seedlings?

Young plantings fed with ammonium sulfate stop stretching.

It won't be difficult to prepare a useful fertilizer. And here's what we'll do.

To prepare the fertilizer at home, take 1 teaspoon of granules and dilute in 2 liters of water.

The prepared solution is poured onto the cucumber seedlings, approximately 3-4 spoons under each plant.

Folk fertilizers with onions

Food waste can be useful, so it should not be thrown away, but rather used to make a nutritious infusion.

Top dressing with onion peels and banana peels will make cucumber seedlings stocky and strong.

In a three-liter jar of water, soak one banana peel and the husks of three onions. Put the solution in a warm place for 3 days, then strain and add 2-3 tablespoons under the seedlings.

Choose useful and affordable fertilizers and dressings for your seedlings, and your seedlings will always be strong, resistant to diseases and pests.
