The cause of the appearance of worms in cherries is the black-bellied fly, also known as the fruit drosophila, or more precisely, its offspring.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told how to fight the pest.

It is worth starting to exterminate the insect in the fall.

At the end of the season, dig up the soil in the tree trunk circle to a depth of 40 cm. Make sure to collect the fallen fruit, after which it must be burned.

In the spring, before the buds open, treat the plantings with copper oxychloride - 40 g per 10 liters of water.

Alternatively, use copper sulfate - in this case, for the same volume of water you need 80 g of the preparation.

The resulting composition should be used to treat both the crown and the ground around the tree.

If we talk about folk remedies, then summer residents have been saved more than once by solutions prepared on the basis of onions, garlic, pine, tobacco and wormwood.

400 g of dry raw material (1 kg of raw) should be poured with boiling water and strained after a day, then brought to a boil, wait until the liquid cools and add a bar of grated laundry soap to it.
