Some gardeners who have planted hydrangea on their plots complain that the bush does not bloom for a long time.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared recommendations that will prevent you from finding yourself in the same situation.
First of all, it is worth noting that, although a significant portion of trees and shrubs in our area are usually planted in the fall, it is better to plant hydrangea in the spring.
The plant needs a long adaptation period, and June, July and August will be just enough for it. Hydrangea planted in the fall risks not surviving the winter.
The ideal time for planting hydrangeas begins in mid-May and lasts until the end of May.
Now it's worth saying a few words about where it's best to plant bushes. Immediately abandon the idea of growing hydrangeas in the shade, on the north side of the plot or in a place with high groundwater levels.
Instead, find a spot for it on the sunny south side, where there is delicate partial shade during the afternoon.
