The loss of a small number of ovaries should not frighten summer residents - this is a normal phenomenon.
In this case, the plant does not become depleted and distributes resources so that the remaining fruits ripen large and sweet.
Ovaries falling off
But often summer residents observe a frightening picture when the ovaries dry up and fall off en masse. This greatly affects the yield of plums, cherry plums and other trees.
In such cases, gardeners take measures to avoid being left without fruits altogether. For this purpose, they have several options for spring fertilizing.
How to feed plum and cherry plum in spring
Wood ash has a beneficial effect on the development of ovaries. Use 1-2 glasses per square meter of the trunk circle.
Solutions of mullein (1:10) or chicken manure (1:20) also have a positive effect on the development of ovaries.
In this case, agronomists also recommend using:
- calcium nitrate – 1 tbsp. per 10 l of water;
- nitrophoska – 3 tbsp. per 10 l of water.
When using liquid fertilizers, the consumption rate per plant is 3-5 buckets.
