Gooseberries that have enough nutrients not only produce a pleasing harvest, but also have better resistance to diseases and pests.
In spring, the bushes need additional feeding, which will replenish the supply of valuable substances after wintering.
However, not all summer residents are in a hurry to use mineral fertilizers.
Some follow "old-fashioned" recipes. Their effectiveness is debated, but there are gardeners who like the result.
Folk remedy
To prepare the fertilizer use:
- sour cream – 5 g;
- whey – 1 l;
- honey – 1 tbsp;
- yeast – 10 g.
All ingredients are mixed and filled with water, bringing the total volume to 10 liters. Leave for a week. After about 7 days, when the mixture has fermented, the bushes are watered.
In addition, organic fertilizers are added in the spring. For example, compost or manure is scattered under the gooseberries. This should be done before the buds open.
As for the folk remedy, the second feeding is carried out during the flowering period.
