To collect a lot of large and juicy blackcurrant berries, you need to apply a simple sequence of feedings.

Some gardeners collect a small bucket of berries from a bush per season, while more experienced summer residents easily get up to 5-7 kg of harvest from one plant.

The secret of a rich harvest

Experienced gardeners believe that every gardener can get a huge currant harvest. But to do this, you need to regularly fertilize the bushes.

Thus, currants need to be fed 5 times a year. Only in this case will the bushes be generous with a solid harvest.

Feeding scheme

1. Dry nitroammophoska under the bush - 10-15 g per plant. Apply in April or the first half of May.

2. The second feeding is done in the summer, when the bushes are blooming. To do this, dilute 8-10 g of potassium sulfate in 1 liter of water. The fertilizer can be replaced with superphosphate - 10-12 g.

3. The time for the third feeding comes when the ovary appears. 100-150 g of wood ash are added under the bushes.

4. Many people think that after harvesting, currants do not need additional feeding. In fact, this is not true. When the last berry is picked, it is time for the fourth feeding.

This time, potassium sulfate or superphosphate is added again in dissolved form - 5-10 g per 1 liter of water.

5. The final feeding is done a month before the cold weather. Before winter, the currant is given a supply of nutrition, which is concentrated in 300 g of wood ash.
