Gooseberries will certainly make you rich with berries, but only under one condition – if you provide the bushes with proper care every year.

The culture requires attention already with the onset of spring, when it is time to trim the bush.

It is this procedure that plays a decisive role in the formation of a good harvest.

When you start pruning, you first need to remove all dried, damaged and diseased branches.

They are easy to recognize – the shoots are colored dark brown, almost black.

Next in line are horizontal branches lying on the ground. In addition to not bearing fruit, they certainly consume nutrients and can also become a haven for insect pests.

In addition, make sure that after pruning, there are no shoots left on the bush that interfere with each other - those that are intertwined and overlap each other.

Thus, as a result of pruning, you will get a bush in the shape of a bowl, where the shoots are located on the outside, around the main branch, due to which each of the shoots will be evenly illuminated.
