If you want to grow lots of tasty peas, the first thing you need to do is prepare the beds.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what kind of soil should be for planting peas.

The main qualities that soil should have are nutritional value and lightness.

Therefore, it is worth starting preparatory procedures in the fall, but it is also possible a couple of weeks before sowing.

If we talk about autumn preparation, it includes the obligatory addition of a tablespoon of nitroammophoska and a bucket of humus for each “square”, after which it is necessary to dig.

In the same case, when preparation is carried out in the spring, limit yourself to 250 g of wood ash, a bucket of compost (humus) per square meter.

When digging, do not be lazy to clear the area of weeds, and then be sure to loosen it. This way you will be able to ensure that the soil becomes light, loose, air- and water-permeable.

Finally, let us note: if the soil is acidic, don’t expect a good pea harvest.
