How to feed currants
1. To begin with, the emphasis is on nitrogen. For example, a solution of chicken manure (1:20). If purchased granulated is used, the ratio with water is 1:100.
From mineral fertilizers: urea (20 g per bush) or ammonium nitrate (30 g).
2. 1-2 weeks after applying mineral fertilizers, sprinkle the soil with wood ash. Loosen the soil slightly, and do not forget about watering. The soil should be moistened to an average depth of 40 cm.
3. During the period of budding and flowering, which usually falls in May, foliar feeding is carried out. For this, solutions of potassium sulfate and superphosphate (1-2%) are used, and manganese sulfate (0.1-0.5% solution) is also used.
