As is well known, heavy clay soil is poorly suited for plant growth: crops forced to exist in such conditions develop poorly, are susceptible to disease, or may even die due to lack of nutrition.
If you are “lucky” enough to own just such a plot, start improving the soil.
This means that you need to make the soil looser, more permeable to air and moisture.
Once the soil acquires these qualities, it will begin to warm up faster and become populated by various beneficial organisms.
What to do to improve the composition of loamy soil
You are given a choice of two methods that will cope with the task assigned to them perfectly.
1. Use coarse river sand
Sand of 2-4 mm fraction is considered coarse-grained. Important: it should be added regularly and in large portions - one bucket is needed per "square".
2. Add organic matter
Living microorganisms will help increase soil fertility, so experienced gardeners advise using organic fertilizers on their plots. These include coarse peat, manure, and compost.
