Florists have long understood that proper fertilizing can increase the duration of phlox flowering by 2 times.
But this is not the only bonus. Thanks to properly selected fertilizers, the number of released buds increases by 5-6 times.
So, some flower growers use the so-called yeast starter.
How to prepare fertilizer
1. Pour 2 liters of warm water into a three-liter jar.
2. Add 30 g of dry yeast and ½ cup of sugar.
3. Keep the solution in a warm and dark place for 2-3 days.
4. The resulting liquid is filtered and used for spraying, but before this it is diluted with water (1:40).
Some gardeners use yeast starter together with green manure, which is also easy to prepare.
1. The fertilizer is prepared in a 10-liter enamel bucket. It is filled 2/3 with chopped greens (nettle, goutweed, coltsfoot).
2. The composition is supplemented with ash (500 ml), manure (250 g), milk whey (100 ml), yeast starter (130 ml) and a handful of compost.
3. The liquid fertilizer is infused for 7 days in a dark and warm place. The liquid is stirred a couple of times a day.
4. The resulting tincture is filtered and diluted with water (1:10).
