Housewives use mustard not only in cooking and household chores, but also even use it in their summer cottages.

When used correctly, it can replace many drugs. That is why many summer residents keep a couple of tricks with mustard in their arsenal.

From the Colorado potato beetle

Skeptics are sure that it is impossible to get rid of the most common pest using folk remedies. However, experienced gardeners think otherwise. They use the following recipe: 200 g of mustard per 10 liters of water.

Infuse for 2-3 hours, then strain and add the following ingredients: 5 tbsp. vinegar (9%) and 50 g laundry soap (liquid or grated).

The resulting solution is sprayed on plants once a week.

From onion and carrot flies

Some gardeners solve this problem even more simply. They always plant onions and carrots next to each other. It is believed that these plants mutually repel pests. Other gardeners prepare the following remedy: mustard is mixed with wood ash (1:3).

The resulting mixture is added during planting of vegetables. When the feathers reach 5 cm, it is added again, and then again after 10-14 days.

Cabbage moth

And this pest can be scared away with mustard. Take 1 cup of powder and mix with 1 cup of tobacco dust, then pour 10 liters of water.

The product is infused for 3 days, then filtered and sprayed on the plantings. Repeated treatment is carried out after 10 days.

Pests of fruit trees

Aphids, codling moths, leaf-eating caterpillars – you can also get rid of them with mustard, say summer residents. To do this, use 50 g of dry mustard. Pour 5 liters of water over the powder and let it sit for 2 days.

Next, add another 5 liters of water and introduce 30 g of baking soda and 20 g of soap for better adhesion. The resulting solution is stirred and sprayed before and after flowering.
