If the plot is buried in vegetables and berries every year, then you can't do without fertilizing. Otherwise, there is a risk of getting a meager harvest.
Soil acidity plays an important role for cultivated plants. If the water for irrigation is hard, the acidity decreases. If the liquid is soft, the opposite process is observed.
Only a small part of cultivated plants, which are popular among ordinary summer residents, can grow in acidic soil. If the pH level is 5 or less, then we are talking about acidic soil.
The neutral zone usually includes values from 5.5 to 7.5. If the pH level is above 7.5, then the soil is already alkaline.
If the soil is too acidic, then slaked lime will help balance its level, which contains calcium, potassium, and magnesium as a bonus. Thus, it is both a fertilizer and a deoxidizer. If the indicator greatly exceeds the norm, then 500 g of lime is added per 1 sq. m. In other cases, 200-300 g per "square" is enough.
